How do I vote?

It's my first election

How do I vote I heard u can vote online but how
You cannot vote online. You can apply for a postal vote.

You must be registered to vote. If you have not yet registered to vote, do so as soon as possible. The deadline for registering to vote in the forthcoming General Election is 18 June 2024.

Once registered to vote, you will receive a polling card, telling you where the polling station is. You do not have to bring the card with you to the polling station but it can assist if you do so. You MUST bring photographic ID with you to vote. A passport or driving licence will do. Student ID and workplace ID will NOT do.

Go to the polling station between 0700 and 2200. Go to the table inside the station and identify yourself to one of the staff. You will be given a ballot paper. Take it to one of the voting booths. Using the pencil provided, mark a large X within the box next to the name of the candidate you wish to vote for. Do not vote for more than one candidate. Write only an X in the box. If you write anything else on the paper, your vote may not be counted. Fold the paper and insert it into the slot in the ballot box nearby.

That's it. Welcome to democracy!

Please do vote. People died so that we could all have the right to vote.

A PASS Card is also accepted as photo ID, or once you are registered to vote you can apply for a free voter ID document, known as a Voter Authority Certificate.
PLEASE VOTE! Extremists of all kinds always vote. Moderates should vote, to prevent extremists getting what they wish.

Not all politicians are venal liars. There are some who try to serve the public. Voting DOES make a difference.

Please read the manifestos, watch the broadcasts and debates, and read the editorials in the Economist, the Financial Times, the Times, and The Observer.

Please vote! Don't let your future be determined by apathy, or by crazy people.
