Kingston accommodation - Seething Wells

Please could you let me know what the difference in storage space and en suite size is between the budget, smaller standard and standard rooms at Seething Wells? Also, do you know when the accommodation portal will open?

Hi, how are the rooms laid out, I picked a premium ensuite and I was wondering if that means my room will be on the top floor or how that works. Thanks!

Hi @N_dev

I was at Seething Wells for my first year accommodation last year so I really hope that you will enjoy it now that it's fully renovated and that you are excited to join the university in September!

In regards to the room, you can see a little bit more info on our website about room layouts: https://www.kingston.ac.uk/accommodation/halls-of-residence/seething-wells-hall/

From my knowledge, the Premium ensuite rooms tend to be on the top floor of some of the blocks. Each block has a different variety of rooms that it contains, for example blocks A-F have standard ensuite rooms and blocks further round such as S and T have micro, budget and smaller ensuite rooms. The premium ensuite rooms would be in the blocks in-between these.

When I applied for my room I could see what floor my room was on- this might be the case for you too?

Please let me know if you have any more questions- I would be happy to answer all!

Hi Yasmin!
Yeah, my room is N7B premium en suite, so I was wondering if that meant I was in flat 7 room B or how that worked. Yes, seething wells seems so lovely and i can’t wait to move in for september!

Hi @N_dev

Perfect! So your room number will mean block N, Flat 7, Room B. So Flat 7 would be one of the top floors

Let me know if you have any more questions!

See you in September

Hi could you tell me how we know what floor the room is on please?

Hi @Suebydoo

So how it works is you will be provided an accommodation which will be a 3 digit code. The first letter will be what block you are in. At Seething Wells there is a block for each letter of the alphabet. Within those blocks there are around 6 or more flats. The next number in the code will be what flat you are in within the block. The final digit is what letter room you are in within the flat.

For example if you were given the digit B6E then you would be in block B, flat 6 and room E.

I hope this helped and let me know if you have any questions!

Hi @jstar777

The rules with guests are that they are not able to stay more than 3 consecutive nights and they can only stay 6 times per term. So your boyfriend can stay over as long as it is within these terms. There is more information about guests in the halls licence agreement which I will leave a link to here Halls Licence and Guide - Halls of residence - Accommodation - Kingston University London

There is also staff on sight to make sure these rules stay adhered to.

I hope this helps
