AQA Combined Science GCSE as a private candidate, do I need to do the practicals?

Looking online I’m very confused as to whether as a private candidate I need to have physically done the practicals or just have knowledge of them. I’ve seen that the edexcel igcse can be done without practicals but I’d rather sit AQA as that’s what I did at school so already have some knowledge of the syllabus (though not much as it was years ago I sat the exams) and it’s apparently the easier exam board. Id like to do a masters in nursing but science gcses are a requirement and unfortunately completed flunked mine at school

hi! currently doing gcses rn! im doing triple but its the same practicals just a couple more! i do not remember ever doing mine (my school is kinda bad) do past papers if youre ever confused or look at the spec. normally youll get asked to provide a method for a practical worth 6 marks, i recommend free science lessons for them he gives a great explanation and as long as you remember it youll get full marks! as long as you get a valid outcome youll get full marks so always ask yourself will it produce correct results! so in summary nope never necessary to actually do them as long as you know HOW to do them!! hope i helped
