not living in halls in first year

I am starting university in september 2024, and will be privately renting with my boyfriend in a flat near to my uni. Do you think I will miss out from not going to halls for my first year, eventhough I will be living close to everyone else.

I don't think renting outside will be a problem.

The potential problem that may arise is if you are a student and your boyfriend is not. You will be making lots of new friends, experiencing things that he cannot be part of and you may feel constantly torn in two. I had a friend who found this challenging and realised she wasn't ready to go down this route, split up and moved out.

If you're both students then that matters less, except if you break up and face the challenge of moving out/increase in renting alone.

Each relationship is different and you will do what works for you.
