For last year's philosophy:
Section A was Theme 2: Problem of evil/credibility of the Irenaean type theodicies, and Freud's arguments for religious being a product of the mind/Empirical approaches vs Jung.
Section B was Hume's CA TA challenges/effectivity of challenges to CA TA, Religion experience: conversion and visions/Influence of RE on beliefs and practices and Concept of religious language as symbolic/symbolic language is only meaningful for religious believers.
Not sure what ethics was but hopefully this is helpful! 😊

thanks so much

My friend understood it as a key moral principles question. I feel like it was so vague you probably will be fine with some waffle haha

Section A tends to be on year 2 content and I think they assess one year 1 topic most likely could be theme 4 religious experience like numinous experiences or Caroline franks davis

not accurate, 2018,2019,2020 were AS questions in section A, plus half of 2023's A options

You’re right but for the last 3 years section A has been year 2 content. June 2023 had 1 As question however 2022 both of section A was year 2 content and 2021

There is a slight pattern for the last 1-2 years where they tend to put 1 as question in section B

For philosophy I’m mainly focusing on theme 4 and 3 because I find that harder and they love to pick questions on religious language or experience

I have a funny feeling section a is gonna be on theme 4, my worst one T^T I literally don't understand theme 4 at all, anyone know of any resources I can use for it? My teachers PowerPoints aren't that good tbh

Reply 194

where would you guys place the likelihood of AS Module 4 (religious experience) being the A Vs the other themes. i think A2 Module 3 has the highest likelihood of being the A

The Eduqas website has knowledge organisers for each topic and there’s a website: alevelphilosophyandreligion

Anyone doing eduqas for rs? I feel like it's a really unpopular so haven't seen much of it on here

yesss! also i noticed that yk how section a of the philosophy paper has two questions from the same theme, this is kinda a prediction looking through past papers

2018- section a was theme 1
2019- section a was theme 3
2020- section a was theme 1
2021- section a was theme 4
2022- section a was theme 4
2023- section a was theme 2

so basically they’ve only asked section a questions on theme 2/3 once, and i feel like its gonna be one of them for this years

ahh interesting - i was wondering whether or not to pretty much just sacrifice theme 2 as it was last year's section a but you never know with these guys...
