I need help interpreting signals from a boy.

When me and this guy I work with walk by each other, he would look down when we make eye contact, but then immediately look back up and hold it as we pass each other. Like just looking straight in my eyes and we don’t look away. Honestly, I think it’s kind of hot. But I’m not too sure if this is a sign of interest. Other times in crowds, he’d see me and we’d hold eye contact in passing but I do not see him very often. I’m not too sure what to make of these exchanges(if there even is something going on). He doesn’t smile or anything. I just don’t want to go up to him and make a move without proper information and make myself look foolish. We are both guys(but I am Black and he is White? Latino).

What kind of workplace is it? Only asking as you can just do a friendly introduction to gauge where they're standing. Like 'oh, I'm _, I've seen you around the last couple of days and I've been meaning to say hi", that leaves him open to cutting it off as professional or friendly, or making it something more

Nothing too formal. It is a sports venue job. I am asking just to see if this could be a sign because I think he is handsome. I don't want to talk to him, and he not be interested so I need good signals first.

Do you know if he’s gay as well? Is he a really friendly person? If so, he may just being nice. But it does seems as if there is a little bit of attraction on his side.

I’ve seen him talking to people(not me). He comes across as masculine, he plays a sport bc I overheard him talking about a coach and I saw him leaving work wearing sweatpants and a sport shirt at night. He also has a beard too. That first time is our first ever contact and he did that. Just yesterday is when I seen him and he held eye contact again. So idk I’m thinking of going up to him when I see him but I don’t want to get beat up heh.

Try and find out if he's bi or gay first (discreetly though)

Navigating potential romantic interest can be tricky, especially in a work setting. It's important to approach the situation with caution and respect for both yourself and the other person. Here are a few things to consider:
1. **Body Language**: The prolonged eye contact and the way he looks down briefly before holding eye contact could be a sign of interest. However, body language can be interpreted in different ways, so it's essential to consider other factors as well.

2. **Cultural Differences**: It's worth noting that cultural differences can play a role in how people express interest or engage in non-verbal communication. What may seem like a sign of interest to one person may not be interpreted the same way by another.

3. **Professional Environment**: Since you work together, it's crucial to maintain professionalism and respect boundaries in the workplace. Consider the potential impact on your professional relationship before making any moves.

4. **Communication**: If you're interested in getting to know him better, consider starting with casual conversations to gauge his interest and see if there's a mutual connection. This can help you understand his intentions and create a comfortable environment for both of you.

5. **Respect and Consent**: Regardless of the situation, it's essential to respect his boundaries and seek clear consent before making any advances. Communication and mutual understanding are key in any potential relationship.

Ultimately, it's important to approach the situation with sensitivity and respect for both yourself and the other person. If you're unsure about his intentions, consider finding subtle ways to get to know him better and see if there's a potential for a deeper connection. Trust your instincts and take things one step at a time.
