It is pathetic how the crowd who wanted Clinton locked away are suddenly pretending that they care about the justice system being weaponised by politicians.

What did she do to warrant that?

He’s (ostensibly) a rich, white dude. The bias is very much in his favour.

Wrong. Falsifying business records is a criminal offence. His crime was within the statute of limitations.
Nobody should be above the law. The MAGA crowd should grow a spine and hold their candidate to the same standard they hold everyone else.

Please tell me what is the statute of limitations for this offence.

I'd like to know what you think it is.

The statute of limitations for falsifying business records is 5 years in New York. During Covid, statutes which were running and hadn't yet expired were extended by approximately one year.

Payments were made to Daniels as late as December 2017. The charges were submitted against Trump in March 2023.

His prosecution was within the statute of limitations.

The conviction being so great for his election was an unexpected fallout for the Democrats. The bigger issue is that if the justice system can be weaponised against such a high profile figure unfairly. What protections do the average person have if they become undesirable to the powers that be?

Do you have any evidence that it's been great for his electoral prospects?

On the contrary, Trump has been treated unfairly leniently by the judicial system. Notably, the three more serious criminal charges against him - the state charge in Georgia regarding his attempt to manipulate the election results, and the federal charges against him for his January 2021 coup attempt and his illegal retention of classified documents - have yet to see trials begin yet, and likely won't before the election. Partly this is just an issue of time - the NY trial was about an earlier incident, and already had the Cohen guilty plea from 2018 to build a case around earlier, enabling the trial to get going quicker - but it's also down to the fact that Republican judges couldn't really interfere in his favour in New York.
