Nuclear Physics question - A-Level Physics Paper 2

The mark scheme for 2018 says:

More neutrons are needed to hold nucleus together / add to
binding force/increase instability/reduce stability (owtte)

Why is it increase instability/reduce stability?????

I assume it's because you are increasing the likelihood of beta minus decay
larger nuclei are more likely to decay which is why it is more unstable. what was the question?
I think it's more to do with SNF, as nuclear radius increases, protons are further away, so attraction by SNF decreases and electromagnetic repulsion is stronger which makes it unstable, so more neutrons are needed to attract the protons via SNF and also to put a bit of distance between the protons. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's something along those lines :smile:)
