Higher Philosophy advice

Has anyone here done the Higher Philosophy course? I'm not sure whether to switch from Higher Chemistry to Philosophy as I find Philosophy to be a lot more interesting than Chemistry and thought I was particularly bad at Chemistry, but I know that Philosophy has no assignment and relies entirely on the exam and having 2 30 mark essays seems like a lot of work to do in S5 when I also have Higher English and History as essay subjects.

I could probably do Chemistry if I genuinely put the work in but I am dreading it so if anyone has any experience with the Philosophy course, how was it? Because if I don't do it this year, I will do it in S6 if my school offers it.

If your more humanities minded (you mention history and english) then you will definetly find philosophy a lot easier than chemistry.

i took it as a crash higher in s5 and whilst there is an intense workload, i really enjoyed the class and found the content very interesting! and i ended up getting an A!

the time conditions of the exam are challenging but ultimately, there are only really eight potential essay questions that you can be asked which makes it particularly easy to study for. (just memorising an essay for each topic).

i also think philosophy is easier than a science subject as the nature is more opinion based rather than KU. so long as you can atleast provide what you think about the topic and some evidence then will earn marks.

if you feel confident with essay writing, philosophy is definitely a great choice. that's the hardest part of the class anyway.

Thank you, I probably will end up switching since I think I’d prefer it and I cope fine with essays. Sounds good.
