Primary school placements Chichester

Hello,

Just wondering what schools people got placed at for Primary PGCE at Chichester Uni? I’m worried about travel distance as I have small kids and want to be there for drop off / pick up.

I am not from the area or the uni, but I am a secondary teacher, and on a PGCE, you're expected to be there at the same time as a teacher - before students arrive and after they have left. My contract is 8:15-3:15; students arrive from 8:30 and leave at 3.

As a student, I was expected to be there by 8:15 at the latest and had to stay until 10 minutes after the students had finished - realistically, I never did; I arrived earlier and left later (especially on my first placement). There are also after-school CPD/ITT sessions, meetings and parent's evenings. Placements can be anything up to 2 hours away; however, most courses make allowances if you have kids and place you in schools closer to you.
