Well start now! but don't worry as these are practise mocks, i think if you start them now, the content in year 11 will be relearnt so that you start to do exam questions immediately. I'm in year 10 so lmk if you have any subject related things

100% don't worry to much if they dont go as planned but defo put in work!! The more seriously u take these mocks the easier it will be for the yr11 ones and real thing. little and often especially for things that u would be put in sets for eg maths, science cuz sometimes they wont reverse their decision or once ur put down its very hard to make it back up again and u will just feel good in yourself + its extra time ur learning stuff = less work later down the line of regoing over it and revision materials that u wont have to make later on!! u got this if they dont go 2 well dont worry cuz i fully flunked mine but dont let it put u down and put in the work (ideally dont let it happen) an hour a day after school each day will be more than enough! yr10 mocks are also so much harder than the real thing im doing my gcses rn and the timming is so much nicer than mocks they will seem scary and long as it will be multiple a day but when gcses come around u will be like danggg gcses are so chill compared to mocks especially if u put in the work to do well!!! It can be very tempting to make fancy notes but exam questions are the way to go + active recall, i also find blurting extremely helpful and wish it was something i started doing a lot earlier (easier with a whiteboard- writing everything u can remember about a topic and then filling in stuff u forgot and then redoing it and recaping) after u learn basically the content id suggest starting the exam questions (ikik they're boring but u will thank yourself later) then if u dont understand look at ur book and recap and over and over until u dont need to anymore!!

When you start yr11 its not as stressful as everyone says just carry on your routine little and often and trust those gcse will be a piece of cake!!! Make flashcards and consolidate after lessons no more than an hour a day id say or u could run the risk of burn out.

websites (we weren't given many in yr10 which sucked):

1.

Science- seneca and cognito are brilliant!! for consolidation, revision and learning. Physics and maths tutor for practise questions, especially bio sometimes keywords can trip people up so definitions list are helpful on there. Studymind- breaks up topics for easy exam content. Savemyexams as well! (also geography idk if u do that)

2.

Maths- onmaths (lets u do minimocks fantastic to see ur progress), maths genie- ive found his vids and practise questions so helpful made content sound simple. corbett maths has this 5 a day feature super helpful for the whole little and often thing!!!

3.

English- youtube tbh and the lightuphub (never personally used it but heard its great) mr salles and other people to help exam structure and technique.

4.

BBC bitesize can be useful if there are not better websites for certain subjects and just do exam board papers.

5.

Not website but cgp books really helpful id suggest getting them as they simplify things a lot and make it manageable.

6.

Quizlet/anki- premade flashcards on there very helpful/ or if u wanna make ur own as well!

7.

This last one is interesting Tilf- for essay based subjects (its paid however u can gain free tries with inviting friends and stuff)

also dont let people test u before ur yr10 mock it will stress u out as in do you know... da da like 20 mins before just dont do it- because if u realise u dont it will stress u out and stay positive it will encourage others around u as well. Make sure u have a clear water bottle and pencil case for ur exams as well. Make sure u check u have the right exam paper as u sit down as well- if not just raise ur hand and they will sort it!! Remember to acutally write in black pen- when i did mine especially for maths i kept accidently writing in pencil

It seems everyone else has had a different experience to me but I didn't really bother revising for them. Revise as you would for any end of topic test but don't stress yourself out - in my school they didn't mean anything. Even for my yr 11 December mocks I barely revised.

Started revising from February half term in yr 11 and ended up with 6 9s and 3 8s.

tbh some people are naturally gifted with stuff at gcses, ive not met you so i wouldn't know beeffrl, but personally ive always had to do revision to do well it just doesnt stick for me a lot. I'd say just get into the habit because a lot of my friends who sure got 9s during gcses and carried on to a levels now really struggle as they never learnt how to revise (kinda wild icl) so defo get into the habbit of it. Little and often. There is no harm in revising, however it could be the difference between a grade!!! Don't let revision ninjas put you down either and defo dont become one trust (people that say they dont revise and get 9s) they could be telling the truth or just lying because they wanna put u down, dont fall into it. when u do well at gcses because of pure hard work u will find a levels and easier thing to. Lmao yes ik this is only about yr10 mocks but think ahead pfft!! 😊 Aim for a 9 and u might just miss but aim for 100% and you can't miss!

dont worry to much about the speeches, just do ur best!! They really dont mean anything to be perfectly honest u get a grade and then its never spoken about again + counts to nothing for ur english gcse so try ur best and after don't think about it! its kinda just like doing practicals in science they're good when ur doing them but they dont mean anything to the content (physically) ofc in exams like 6 markers but i mean like when ur first doing them type thing.

I completely agree the speeches don't mean much!

But just a little warning lol, I never took any of the GCSE practicals seriously like I never filled in any of the sheets. I completely forgot that they do actually come up in exams 💀💀. I still got all 9s in my sciences but they do matter in that regard.

Also I think the point of those practical sheets was to prepare you for a level, if you plan on doing a science. Because you need to pass the practical element of the sciences to get into most unis if you're pursuing the field further. This involves you writing up every single practical in full detail and being marked on it. I just point this out because I always found it strange how those practical sheets never mattered at GCSE. Pretty sure it's just to show you what cpac would be like at 6th form. ☺️

thats very interesting
i was going to say the same for science because they usually use the 6 markers
