Can I apply to clearing with 2 A Levels??

Hey
I changed subjects at the end of Y12 so I'm finishing this year with 2 A levels. I'm taking exams for the 3rd A level next year but would I still get a place at uni through clearing? If I am able to explain my situation?

I would include all 3 A Levels in your application but note that you would get your third A Level next year. This would widen your pool of potential degrees and universities that you can apply to. In fact, UCAS requires you to list all level 2 and 3 qualifications prior to applying (unless I am corrected).

You can still go through clearing should you wish, but I doubt it would be of any interest to you. Clearing is usually for those who didn't get onto the courses of their choice and there is a space that has been cleared for them. It's kind of what is left over once everything has been cleared with those who are on the reserved list.

There are 2-3 universities in the country that accept 2 A Levels (or equivalent) as entry requirements. However, as you are doing your third A Level, this doesn't really apply to you.
In fact, if you are going to finish your third A Level next year, you can't really apply for clearing to start uni in September anyway.
Very few universities accept 2 A levels and those that will probably wont interest you. Wait until next year you will then have greater options. You can look at clearing when details are released but there wont be much there if anything.
