Those who actually lived in Clapham Junction, how was it?

Hello everyone,
There's a new development in the area and though an hour away from campus I'm considering it but I keep hearing mixed opinions on Clapham Junction, especially on it being unsafe and the legendary rush hours commute, mostly from Londoners. Those who actually lived there or is currently living there, what are your thoughts on this?

I've lived near that station for a bit. Never had to commute so I can't comment on that front, but Northcote Road is lively and pleasant. Comments about it being unsafe might be to do with the northern end of the area, near lidl - but even then, my experience is not poor. As for the transport connections, Clapham Jct is well served by buses, and as Clapham Jct is the most frequently served station in the country, you can get to Victoria or Waterloo for onward connections with ease.
