Degree Apprenticeships and yr12 mocks

I’m feeling like I won’t get very good year 12 mock results. I do computer Science, Physics and Maths and will most likely get C or B for CS, C or D for Maths and D or E for Physics. In that scenario what does that mean for when I’m applying for apprenticeships or degree apprenticeships? If I don’t meet their required minimum grades then what should I do?

Hey mate,

I would tell you not to give up hope yet. Keep working hard and make a plan so that you can improve! I do Physics, Comp Sci and Chemistry and I'm finishing up in the next 3 weeks.
A trick I learned was that my UCAS grades do not equal my predicted grades. If your school does predicted grades every end of term and you show improvement, you can ask for a report or some documentation to show that your grades are improving and use those for the degree apprenticeships.
Keep in mind that degree apprenticeships are quite hard to get. I think only 2 or 3 people in my school got an offer out of 20 people applying and trying. They take a lot of hard work and determination to get, but don't let that put you off!
I think I got told none stop that the degree apprenticeships would be very hard to get into and will be very difficult once I'm in but I haven't let that stop me.
Another thing which is important is having a plan B. I applied to university this year as well just in-case I did not get an offer. I really did not want to go to uni but you never know, you might change your mind and you do not want it to be too late. Have your options available. I wanted a degree as well but a few of my friends applied for level 3-5 apprenticeships as they really didn't want to go to uni. I can't say I blame them haha.

Feel free to shoot me a DM. I hope some of that was helpful.

even if you get those grades, you usually get boosted 2-3 grades up for ur predicted grades especially if your ahcieved grades are on the lower end. this advice is coming from someone who is currently holding 4 degree apprenticeship offers for software engineering. grades dont matter. they are just for the uni to have some sort of boundary to not let in complete idiots with no grades at all. so trust me, just aim for BBB then you are fine for all degree apprenticeships but if it calms your nerves, most DA have BCC requirements and even if you slip up by 2-3 grades they still will let u in. the hardest part is getting an offer since they dont care about grades on a piece of paper but rather how you are as an individual. if you need anymore help just lmk
