Applying to Maths and Economics

So I am planning to apply to Maths for 4 of my options, but also looking into LSE Maths and Economics as a 5th option.

How would I write my personal statement to incorporate the economics aspect considering all my other options are Maths and I predominantly want to talk about Maths?

Would not having anything Economics related in the teacher's reference be an issue?

Would I be better off just applying to another uni for straight Maths?
LSE are one of the few universities who place great emphasis on your PS. Make of that what you will.

okay thank you, taking that into account for a course like Maths and Economics would they expect the PS to be 50% Maths and 50% Economics

Perhaps not 50% but an emphasis on the application of mathematics in economics?
