Just curious if anyone has had a similar experience.

One course I applied for requires an A-Level in a language (Irish) which I didn't study to A-Level but I am a native speaker of and the university have said they will reject me on this basis.

I have loads of friends who speak Urdu or whatever fluently but never took exams in it and I would have thought that 16 or 17 years of speaking it daily would at least contribute towards an A-level requirement.

Anyone else had this happen?

PS: It's not quite the same as taking an English A-level before anyone says "I speak English and need an English A-Level"!
