If you failed a core module in Year 2, presumably a condition of progressing to Year 3 was that you retook the assessments for that module over the summer, or perhaps that you retook the whole module in Year 3, alongside your Year 3 modules?

What were you asked to do with regards to this failed core module? And, more importantly, did you do that?

I retook the 1 module i failed in my year 2 in that year then in my 3rd year i retook the module again and failed.

Oh. :frown:

To graduate with an honours degree: "Minimum credit requirement is 360 credits, with a minimum of 120 credits at level 6, at least 120 at level 5 or higher and remainder at level 4 or higher." (That's according to section 11.10 of their Standard Assessment Regulations 2023/24.)

The most likely outcome, therefore, is that you'll graduate with an ordinary degree, rather than an honours degree.

Just out of interest, what was this nightmare module?

If you had a good reason on failing it twice, try appealing before the examboard. Find out from your university student liasion officers on the process. Of course attach all the relevant documents etc. They may allow a 3rd re-take if you had valid grounds. Good luck

So, just to clarify, you're not in your final year, you're in Year 3 of a four year integrated Master's, and your question is not about graduating (because you don't graduate until the end of the whole course), but is actually about progressing from Year 3 to Year 4 (the Master's year). Have I got that right?

OK. So Regulation 7 says that the main route for progression from Level 6 (Year 3) to Level 7 (Year 4) is by "successfully passed all 120 credits" or "achieved the profile for compensation and have been awarded 120 credits (see regulation 6)". We know that compensation (where they turn a blind eye to a module failure and "pretend" you passed it) doesn't apply because "compensation is automatically applied by a Departmental Assessment Board once you have made an initial attempt at all modules on the level". That didn't happen, so the module or your profile doesn't meet the compensation requirements (see Regulation 6 for the rules).

However, there is an alternative route, which allows you to progress from "from one level to the next carrying:-
up to 20 credits of failure, or
up to 40 credits of continued reassessment (see regulation 7.1), or
a combination of failure and continued reassessment up to a maximum of 40 credits."

One of those must apply, else you would not have been able to progress from Level 5 (Year 2) to Level 6 (Year 3). However, "You can progress carrying outstanding credit from the level below only, e.g. you can progress to level 6 carrying level 5 credit but not carrying level 4 credit." This means you can't carry forward your failed modules into Level 7 (Year 4). :frown:

There does appear to be a little "wiggle room" on the above, as "Continued deferral can exceptionally be agreed with attendance. In these circumstances, the continued deferral with attendance will be treated in the same way as failed credit to determine progression and credit loading."

I strongly suggest that you contact your Academic Adviser for further advice; you will find their contact details on the ‘Key Support Advisers’ section of Blackboard. (See How do I find out who my named Advisers are?) They will know the specifics a lot better than some random stranger (me) who's just reading the rules.

I assume you were drunk when you wrote this; it's extremely hard to understand what you're saying or asking.

According to the regulations you won't be able to progress to year 4 without having passed this year 2 module. It is not eligible for condonement, as if it were it would have been condoned already.

I see two routes to year 4:
1. You might be offered an opportunity to be assessed for this module again during the summer reassessment period. (That would be your fourth attempt by my count.)
2. They might let you retake the module again (with attendance) in year 4, which they say they may agree to "exceptionally".

Have you contacted your Academic Adviser for advice, as I suggested over a week ago now?

They have asked me to apply for an EC for the exam and I can only take it when I have returned to the country at the end of august but the further resit may be on august or october which I worried about cause I have a situation that have me return to my own country to deal with the EC has been accepted and im worried the exam might be this month

The only thing which will alleviate that worry is knowing whether the further resit opportunity will be in August or October. The only way to establish that is to ask.

If they say they don't know, then you need to tell them that you wouldn't be able to attend a resit in August due to the situation you're currently dealing with in your home country. Given that this is the very reason you've applied for EC, it would be unreasonable if them to schedule the resit when they know the EC still apply.
