need help job hunting for summer

hey guys, hope yalls are well

im looking at part time jobs for the summer and for my gap year before uni, does anyone know stores i should apply to or tips on where to find jobs? i know indeed and reed exist but ive been hearing stories that theyre useless

ideally im looking at a place that's cute or sells cool or art/book stuff like miniso or flying tiger or waterstones, maybe a boba or ice cream store too, id also be fine with a retail store like sainsburys or tescos. but it has located in central or even better south london, and preferably has teens or ppl in their early 20s, but i'll take anything! i dont wanna be picky n limit my options ik how hard it is

also does it hurt if im 18 and havent had a job yet? i have some experience with skl and opportunities like take the lead but im uncertain if they ask for more. my brother mentioned volunteering at a charity store, but how long should i volunteer for? whats enough to the employer that shows enough? id want a job that pays money by summer yk

thanks!

i'd guess the best approach is make a really solid CV, get it spelled checked, and ask store attendants if they're hiring/to take a copy of your resume just in case. any experience you can sell in the resume is good

it's very tough to get a summer job, especially if they suspect you're moving away for university, so i think breadth searching is the best approach. maybe then you can chance upon someone who'll give you some £s for hours

Apply to every shop/supermarket etc that has vacancies. Places like mcdonalds take on a lot of students too and are very flexible.
You could volunteer at a charity shop- even if its just until you find a paid job.
