Is the University racist to English students?

I've just started an application for Bangor University. On the ethnicity bit, normally the form would just have 'White British' and 'Other White Background' or something similar for the White section.

However, Bangor University has (as separate options, not all joined together under 'White British'): White British, White Irish, White Welsh, White Scottish. No White English.

The fact that they offer options for all the other 3 UK countries but not for England makes it seem like it's an intentional attempt to exclude the English, as if to say the English are not welcome there.

Is that what it's like at Bangor? Does the University actively treat English students horribly? And what's the area like to English students?

It may seem like a little thing and I know the English rib the Welsh and vice versa, but it just seems so much worse when a university, which obviously has a lot of power over students, is institutionally racist. So can anyone confirm if it is?
Mate...I went to the open day, and I'll tell you, it AINT racist at all. Just put yourself as White British, as that's essentially White English, it's, nearly the same. It's just that I think this university looks for specifics is all, as they have some welsh focused optional classes. You don't gotta worry.

Thanks, I just wanted to check. I did put White British, as I normally would if there is no White English option (as I'm sure you know, nationality is different from ethnicity), it's just the fact that the University had Welsh, Scottish, Irish, but not English that got me a bit perturbed, like it was intentionally excluding us. Normally it's just the White British option (or White English/Scottish/Irish/Welsh).

A lot of the lecturers at Bangor are English, and I would say the majority of the students as well.
Certainly don't let it put you off.

They definitely don't treat white people horrible. They do that because they want to know the diversity of the university. So don't be worried. Also I'm going to bangor this September and from open days it's amazing place
