a level maths edexcel questions

hey guys so i got a couple of questions and i need some help. firstly, how do i know what to round to ? and also the longer binomial expansion method (the one in the forumla booklet) makes more sense to me so can i use that even tho it takes longer? and what notation do i need to know specifically and will not using that (for example vector notation) cause me to lose marks? and this one might seem kinda stupid, but how do i layout my answers? because in school tests and mock exams, we get the question paper and then lined paper so we write our answers there. is it the same in the exam? so do i do like quesiton 1 a) then b) then so on and on? if someone could just get a past paper quesiton and annotate it i would be really grateful. thanks

The "lined paper" is in the question paper so you just write your answers on there. In terms of layout, entirely up to you but make sure that the examiner can understand the flow of working and indicate your answer clearly.

You generally round to what is appropriate in the question (which is usually 3sf or 1 dp. unless it explicitly states otherwise) but if you round to a different level of significance, you will not be penalised for this since your answer is still correct.

For the binomial expansion, if that is what makes sense to you then follow that. They don't care what method you use so long as you reach the correct answer. You just need to ensure that you show sufficient working out.

So, usually round to four d.p to be safe, unless specified in the answer.
Also, this year (At least for the WJEC papers) the Maths exams have lined bits for you to put your answer on.
If you send me a photo of a question, I can give it a go, but I must warn you I haven't done any maths for a week because ive finished all my AS exams.
