Hello , I would like to apply to Newcastle Uni for computer science but I have only achieved a 5 in GCSE math and it requires a 6,

Hi! I've recieved my offer from newcastle for computer science and I've had absolutely attrocious gcse results getting a 5 in maths but still getting in because of my predicted grades for A-Levels. As long as you reached your minimum for English Lang and a nice GCSE CS grade then go for it!

I got 5 in lang and 4 in CS , are those goods and with what offer did you get in? ( or offer you got )

They seem good enough for you to try to see if you get in. I'm doing the PARTNERS programme so they've dropped my offer to BBC with my A-Levels predicted being an ABB (requirements for GCSE still being the same for PARTNERS).

Okay I see , and what were your GCSEs aside from the 5 in math?

To check if we would consider your application, please contact us to send us all the qualifications that you have achieved so far or are currently taking, including:
•
The name of the qualification (e.g. A level, BTEC, GCSE)
•
The subjects/units covered
•
Any grades/marks obtained/predicted, and the year of award
Please note that if is is 2024 entry you are interested in we will be unable to advise until the 5th of July when Clearing opens and we know if Computer Science is available.
