Why does my friend leave me on read?
We are good friends, we go to different schools so we don’t see each other as much but whenever we are together she’s really nice but when I text her “Hi how are you doin etc sometimes she leaves me on read? And idk why? She legit speaks in essays so you can’t tell me that she’s not a texter but I find this kinda sad. And I’m always the one asking how she is. But other than that she’s really nice and a good friend so idk??

Most times. Sometimes it just “hey how are you” other times we’ll be having a convo like
Me; how was your day
Her: great! Had my history test today so now I can chill for the holidays. Wbu?
Me: that’s great! You were studying so hard for that I’m sure you’ll do well. How are you
Feeling abt it?
Or something along the lines of that that. That’s just an example. It’s either Just yeah I’m good this is how I am doing end of. Left on read. Or I reply and ask a question to
Keep the convo going and that’s it. Left on read. I keep thinking did I say something wrong or have I upset her but my friends and school say it’s just a normal convo. Idk if she’s sensitive or what? I’m kind annoyed but also worried abt it

She’s texted me once or twice first but otherwise it’s always me. And I only text if we haven’t spoken in weeks/a month or two

And it’s soooo annoying??? Like she’s a really good friend in person but idk who or what she is over text. Her mum is a bit weird too like she’s kinda strict but I don’t think that’s the reason why she’s weird over text? And her mum likes me so idk

Maybe she’s one of those low maintenance friends. You might not like it but maybe she finds that it’s too much effort. Leaving you on read is annoying though. I think you should just stop texting her and release the stress for yourself.
Is low maintenance a good thing? But when she’s in the mood she speaks in literal essays like she’ll go into detail abt the convo. It’s like speaking to 2 different people. Sometimes I do want to stop texting her but she’s a good friend

for me, she leaves me on read. even if i ask a question or sum. she just leaves it on read for MONTHS until i say something again. even then, she only says something in a VERY short answer.
