Transport to loreto college

Hi, im from prestwich and im looking to get into Loreto College. Iv noticed that from where i live its quite a distance and takes like 2 busses and a tram. So my question is, qis there anyone out there that lives in prestwich that attends/attended the college and how did you get there?

Yeh the only way u can get there is by bus or tram. I am from prestwich as well and my highschool was near by to me but when I went college I took 2 busses or sometimes the tram. My journey was extremely exhausting and I reached home approximately around 6. Why don’t u go to a college nearby like holy cross which is in bury?

I am in a similar situation as I live near prestwich and would’ve took two buses to go. Could I ask which subjects did u take (I’m taking maths, chem, bio) and is loreto even worth travelling that long as many believe it’s the ‘best sixth form in Manchester’ or is it a regretful decision

It’s outstanding because studnest are determined to put in Effort but it’s a typical college. The journey is the absolute pain I could go on about it all day. The cost outweigh the benefits

Oh my I’m kind of glad I have enrolled into two sixth forms because I’m second guessing myself if I want to go to loreto as the school is really good for med applicants however I was too scared abt the one hr and 30 mins journey to the school as the journey may reduce my revision time, free time etc etc. I was hoping that I would get lucky with my timetable so I wouldn’t have any classes ending at 4pm lol. Would u say the journey has affected ur grades at all? Would u say the courses, teachers, support, high achievers, extracurricular activities are as good as they say they are? Srry for waffling as I rlly need to decide which sixth form to go to as school starts next week.

It’s almost like the decision of ur life lies in my hands. First of all highly doubt that ur NOT going to have any classes at 4 especially if ur thinking everyday of the week. The journey defo did affect my grades cus I was coming from far and there was always so many issues on the bus sometimes it would arrive late sometimes break down in the middle of nowhere sometimes it was jam packed with extremely stinky scruffy people even during the start of the week the bus REEKED I could not breathe and for me the journey was extremely exhausting because I would come home and home and delay my revision buts that also because I am anaemic. Teachers were of no use like A level are just about doing it urself cus of the mass amount of content personally for me I don’t really think teachers cared and they would go extremely fast when teaching. Trust me when I say this A LEVELS are about ur own hardwork and effort and to go to a far college for a level I ABSOLUTELY think it’s not worth it at all. I feel like if u was to go holy cross which is bury u wud have the same experience as loretto.

There is no need to go far when u will get the same experiences at a college nearer to ur house. I really don’t want u to go far like I have been through the pain but then everyone has a different experience u may or may not like it. If u live near holy cross then I can assure u it’s similar to loretto js go there
