Hi there, another ADHDer here. First of all, I'm sorry you're going through such an awful time at the moment, it sounds like whatever you're dealing with is really taking a toll. Regarding your ALevels, I too failed my A Levels and I still got to university in fact I am about to start my second degree this year. If you don't get the required grades for your university there is clearing (which you may have heard of). Looking for a course in Clearing? Learn how Clearing works & find a new place (ucas.com)

Remember to be kind to yourself, you are neurodivergent, society is not built for people like us and so we have to work harder than the average person. The fact you are dealing with a lot at the moment and still getting up and going to college is great, I certainly wouldn't have been able to manage that with my ADHD. As for failing, you are not. it looks to me like you are trying extremely hard, failing is doing nothing.

So as for advice, firstly I would speak to your tutors or student support team if you haven't already, tell them what you are struggling with and get some support. If you don't have an official diagnosis they may be able to help you fund one, my brother works at a college and has done so. Secondly, I would contact ADHD UK who have some really good resources on educational support and some draft letters you can send to your tutors to request help. Reach out to some Facebook support groups for students with ADHD and see if they can suggest anything too 🙂 Support for separate exam room (adhduk.co.uk), ADHD Support for additional exam time (adhduk.co.uk). If it doesn't work out this year it isn't the end of the world, you can resit the following year. In my experience, I know that I will take longer to do things than others, but I know I work harder and don't let anything get in my way anymore.

On a final note, I would have a chat with your doctor about how ADHD is affecting you and your future and see if there is anything they can do to support you, whether that is a letter of support to the college, treatment plans or extensions on coursework

Good luck and remember your best is enough!

Rae

You can study any degree you wish at The Open University.
We're sorry to hear you're at a point of crisis with your mental health, and you're feeling so overwhelmed at the thought of the steps you need to take to achieve your goals. After having the worst two years of your life, it sounds as though you are doing incredibly well to be surviving and still engaging in your education, even if you don't feel you're hitting the targets you'd envisioned for yourself. If you find this situation is leading to thoughts of suicide at times, it might be helpful to talk this through with someone else. If you'd like to talk anonymously to a suicide prevention adviser, Hopeline is available 24/7 via the contact details on our profile.

These hotlines are useless and worthless, better off giving up if these guys are your last hope, ive spoken with them before.
And goodluck with your exams, dont stress so much. Know that you are capable of great things.
