How different is sixth form for a foreign student?

My parents moved to UK from Asia and I am nervous. I am really quiet, have moved to different places before and always have been worried but, this time I am moving in for sixth form. I am just really nervous if I would be able to adjust quickly to the exams and education here and get good marks to get into a nice university. I just dk how schools work here. High school is really important and ik I have to work incredibly hard but it would be appreciated if anyone who have moved here during this time, could u please tell me how different it is here?
Also, would there be any complications for me to get into a good university because I would still not be a UK citizen within 2 years?

Hey! I'm also a student in the UK from Asia (Y11, going sixth form next year).
I'd say that the slang and culture here may be a bit different to what you have currently but you'll catch up really quick.
From my experience, it took me a year to get used to how things went around here in the UK (e.g. Transport, culture, etc…)

I can't say that it would be hard to adjust quickly to education or other elements as everyone has their own opinions. But I would say that you'll find that its easier to score higher marks compared to boundaries in Asia.

I can't say much about the University part as I'm not familiar in this field; yet I hope everything turns out well for you in the end!! 😁

Oh thank you so much, I thinkkk I have scored somewhat good marks in Asia, but I have been off from school for some months now(sixth form don't give admission from the middle of the year) also, all the subjects I took are pretty intense. I am starting from September so I am most probably gonna forget all that I have learned but ur answer was reassuring thank you

well, how long did it take you to adjust with the exams here? My younger sibling says it's completely different, the exams here, there are no textbooks only notes but she says it would probably be different in sixth form.

I’d agree that it’s completely different with exams (each exam board in the UK are somewhat similar).
It took me around 2-3 months with adjusting? I can’t speak for you cause I don’t understand your potential in handling things quickly or not but unit tests, end of term exams, end of year exams, mocks, real exams, etc… are somewhat similar to what you may have now.
Resources like textbooks and notes are quite different - I’d say depending on your school and the exam board, different types of education resources are given/offered to you.
