Not sure if i'll go to the unis i want with my grades

I'd love to go to a prestigious uni for medicine (ucl/oxbridge/imperial or some scottish unis) but the grades I got at Nat 5 level (GSCE equivalent) are quite average (5 As 3 Bs). If I were to get really good grades at Highers, what are the chances that I get in based on the grade aspect alone - I already do extra/super curriculars.

5As and 3Bs are not just average grades, the average grade is definitely not an A! If I were you I would try as hard as possible to make the rest of your application exceptional if you're worried your nat 5 results will weigh you down, with top predicted grades and a lot of UCAT (or equivalent) practice.

If it's any comfort, I received an offer from imperial (although for chemistry) with GCSEs 44567888.

Best of luck! (:

What did you do for a level and how did you do??? I thought you needed like straight 8s and 9s to get into imperial

i'm doing maths, biology, and chemistry a levels, and i also did gcse astronomy in year 12, and as further maths in year 13.

i looked to see what imperial say about gcse grades, and they say that they want a 'majority' of grades 7 to 9, so i think getting a 7 in astronomy helped to get a majority.
