Do they have a list of subjects of what 'science' includes? See if you can find this because some unis have different subjects that class as a 'science'. For example some unis might see psychology as a science but others may see it as a 'soft' science

BSc Zoology | Study at Bristol | University of Bristol (links with Bristol Zoo) - requires Biology and another science-related subject Their 'science-related' subjects include: Biology; Chemistry; Computer Science; Economics; Electronics; Environmental Sciences; Further Mathematics; Geography; Geology; Mathematics; Physics; Psychology; and Statistics.

Zoology BSc (Hons) (Single Honours) | University of Chester (links with Chester Zoo) - requires Biology or Chemistry

BSc (Hons) Marine Biology - University of Plymouth - Biology and preferably further relevant Science subjects. Qualifying relevant science subjects are: Applied Science, Applied Marine Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology.

Its also worth looking at subjects like Wildlife Conservation, Ecology and Conservation, Animal Behaviour, Ocean Science etc.

Im also hoping to do zoology and have applied to sixth form so I’ve researched this a bit. Biology (which you are taking) is obviously a must, other than that it’s good to have another science subject. If you dont wanna do chem, physics or maths then i would say environmental science might be a good option or something along the lines of geography/geology or psychology depending on what you’re most interested in. For example, if you’re more interested in animal behaviour then psychology could be a strong choice but if you’re more into the physical ecology kinda side you might wanna opt for geography or geology. Environmental science is a safe option i would say if you’re school offers it as it is close to what you want to study! Hope this helps with your decision!

Hi @tuttley,

I did my BSc in Zoology at the University of Southampton and have now taken an MRes in Wildlife conservation here too. At A-levels I personally took Biology, Psychology and Geography. Here are each of our courses and their A-level requirements:

BSc Zoology - A level science subjects considered include Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Psychology, Environmental Studies, Geography and Geology.
BSc Marine Biology - Chemistry, Maths, Environmental Studies, Geology, Geography or Physics.
MSci Biology and Marine Biology - Chemistry, Maths, Environmental Studies, Geology, Geography or Physics.

I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions please let me know.

Abby,
4th year at UoS
