I'm doing AQA but generally I found PEAL structure useful as an outline for film and book essays!!
Point - introduce your point : theme/character etc
Example - scene in the film/book that demonstrates your point
Analysis - analysis about the film scene/chapter/quotes
Link - link back to the question so the examiner can see youre clearly answering it

I also recommend looking on memrise and quizlet for flashcards/courses with set essay writing phrases, and for vocab for your film/book !

Hey! Hope your exam went alright. If you are yet to figure out how to write essays to maximise your marks, feel free to PM me! I'm currently selling my A-Level French notes. I did AQA, but I have notes on all the time stamped scenes in the film with quotes, a flashcard set on essay structure and A* phrases, and an example A* essay. Let me know if this interests you! Otherwise, I recommend studying the markschemes. I'm not sure how it works for Eduquas, but I know for AQA we got a an A03 mark for analysis of the film, and an A04 mark for grammar, spelling, etc. Identifying stuff like this is really helpful because it might be you're only losing marks for your analysis, for example, and don't need to change anything about the structure of your essay or your grammar. Hope this helps and feel free to PM me if you need! ☺️☺️

For your essay on La Haine, start with an introduction that briefly covers the film and your main thesis. Then, organize the body paragraphs by first stating a clear point about a specific aspect of the film (such as themes or characters), followed by evidence from the film to support your point. After presenting the evidence, analyze how it reinforces your point and connects to your thesis. Finally, wrap up with a conclusion that summarizes your key points and reiterates how they support your overall argument. This structure will help ensure your essay is cohesive and compelling.
