should i learn manual or automatic?

i'm looking into getting driving lessons and i always wanted to just do automatic and get my license as soon as possible but i've been thinking about it more now that i'm actually looking for lessons. Some people around me say i should learn manual because it would be pointless to only have an automatic license but other have said to do automatic because there aren't really that many manual cars left on the road anymore and it's what i originally was going to do.. I just wanted some advice on what you thought i should do.

100% do it in a manual!

1.

there are still millions of manual cars on the road, so it gives you much greater flexibility

2.

it can teach you how cars work, and give you greater general control over a car by managing engine braking etc.

3.

manuals are typically more reliable than automatics

4.

if you ever need to borrow a car, rent a van etc. you can do without being restricted to just automatics

Manual gives you more options/flexibility but it honestly depends on your situation. Many people just do automatic and get by fine.

Automatic, you want to pass fast, drive with control automatic. Cars are turning into automatic anyways.

should i learn manual or automatic?
