I currently take English Lit HL, and its my most challenging subject. The amount of reading you need to do is quite taxing. My main issue with the subject is how unrewarding it can feel, because unlike stem/humanities subjects, there is no definitive right or wrong in the course, so even if you think you have done all the appropriate work, prep, and reading, your grades can still be dissapointing. I have also found that it really (at least for me) depends on the teacher you get. I know that people say that you shouldn't base your descisions off of teachers, friends, etc.. but if you already know that the english lit teacher has a bad rep, I would avoid taking a subject like this.
However, all this being said, if you really love reading, and feel like you're up for the challenge, I would say go for it. I might be a bit biased because I kind of regret taking the subject, due to my dissapointing english gcse, so maybe I just wasn't made for it...

Suggest that you take A levels English and A Levels Psychology. It is less work than IB subject certs.
