weight loss

hi there, im a 16 year old female and i want to lose weight. as of now, im 64kg at height 5'3 and my ideal weight would be 55kg.

i currently do 3.2km run 3-4 times a week.
i struggle with binge eating due to emotional distress and habit, although i have been trying to eat intuitively.

does anyone have any advice on how i could lose 9kg and how long it would take? i will do anything

You don’t need to lose weight, however I know it doesn’t feel like that to you, so i’ll try and be a bit of help. An important thing to remember is that it takes a significant amount of EXTRA calories to gain weight, and that eating a regular amount of calories just maintains your weight. Starving yourself or restricting yourself in an unhealthy way is unhelpful, may make you want to binge eat again, and is dangerous. Maybe just limit your binge eating, ensuring that you are still eating adequate meals, or swap a few of your snacks for something a bit healthier (e.g. apples with peanut butter). Also, its important to note that you still need to eat foods that are deemed ‘unhealthy’ in moderation and it is unrealistic to think that you should cut all these out, as that is probably what is leading to your binge eating.
I’m a bit useless with excercise advice, however people say that walking helps fat loss, whereas running is more for overall weight loss? Don’t know if it makes any sense, just seen that online, but maybe try to get 10,000 to 15,000 steps in a day (which sounds like a lot, but with a bit of music on and in the fresh air, it isn’t too bad). Anything additional to what you have been previously doing is a bonus though - remember that.
