An odd decision for Starmer not to challenge the £2000 figure harder when he had the opportunity.
It's not grounded in fact.

“The NHS is broken” word, someone has to say it.

The waiting times are ridiculous, the quality of care is poor, the pay is poor. Coming from personal experience.

my cousin is a pharmacy technician through apprenticeship after Y11 and he earns the same as a nurse. Whenever nurses get a pay rise through strikes and stuff, he also gets a pay rise. He isn't complaining lol. The system is broken

These things are usually relative and dependent on the government proposing to cut a tax that Labour dont't. So I suspect it's not an actual rise.

“It’s worse in Wales so **** England”

My god, lord have mercy. Thank God my family don’t live in the UK, system would have failed them, left them to collect the scraps.

I tend to agree with Andrew Neil that Starmer and Sunak are second rate candidates relative to history so I don't expect much but the aim here is probably to marginalise the Lib Dem's and Reform.

Ok Rishi has a point here, Starmer needs to actually list solutions.

But looks like he’s doing this now.

Nurses don’t get paid enough in my opinion.

He talked about negotiation being a solution to the strikes situation.

On the economy question it was basically a repeat of PMQ's talking over each other. Starmer gets a 1-0 win because he told an emotive story albeit Sunak is clearly targeting tax which he mentioned repeatedly.

On health both were better and I'd surprisingly say a 0-0 draw. Both gave reasonably emotive appeals and Sunak actually got a clap when arguing against the 35% union demand. Starmer didn't want to be specific.

At least he said how he would resolve the pay but I agree that Starmer seems to refuse to answer questions.

It’s just complaining with no solutions.

I reckon Rishi is doing better. He exposed a problem with starmer with tax rises and starmer has just avoided it

"English children are the best readers anywhere" - Starmer
I think he means they are the best readers in anywhere in England
