University of Birmingham Accommodation

Hi! I’m staring Birmingham in September and I’m struggling to choose accommodation. I have decided I definitely want to be on the Vale but I’m stuck between Shackleton (en-suite), Mason and Chamberlain. My dilemma is:

Shackleton: cheapest, decent room but not the most homely, good kitchen, larger flat numbers. Overall would be fine but not sure if I should just spend the extra for comfort reasons?

Chamberlain: most expensive, nice room with bigger bed, bigger shower, looks brighter and like a nicer space to live in, decent kitchens, on a hill (?), unsure whether worth the extra compared to Shackleton?

Mason: feels like the worst value one of the 3 to me, visited on an open day and looked really tired and old for £8k, best location, bigger bed than Shackleton, wet room (I have long thick hair and I’m pretty sure the shower would flood every time I wash it), odd kitchen.

It’s between Shackleton and Chamberlain really with Mason as a backup in case they’re fully booked as I’d rather save money and go to Shackleton or spend a bit extra for Chamberlain. I’m just unsure whether it’s worth paying the £800 extra for Chamberlain over Shackleton?

Any advice or experiences of living in any of these places would be really appreciated

Yh I agree with ur comment about Mason. Wasn't a fan either. Think I've settled on Shackleton as its similar to Chamberlain if not a bit better cos of the extra facilities.
