I think I like my friend but I didn't realise it till he started seeing someone

So, this is weird but I think I like a friend of mine. We've hung out a bunch of times (always in a group setting) and I've introduced him to my bf. I never thought too much of anything until this one time we hung out and he told me he knew a few words in my mother tongue (different ethnicities). He leaned in and proceeded to say "tell me you love me" in my mother tongue while maintaining eye contact. I was a bit shocked because I thought he'd say "hi" or "how are you". I asked him if he knew what that meant and he laughed and nodded. He also walked me home the next time we hung out.

To make things worse, my bf and I have been fighting a lot the last couple months (not related to this at all).

Idk what my issue is but today when we hung out, he told me he has a gf now and my heart kinda dropped. He always makes intense eye contact with me but we don't touch or hug (in general as a friend group, we don't hug or anything). But today, before he left he asked me to give him a hug. So I did. But it was weird because we were standing and talking as a group of four but he didn't ask anyone else. idk.

idk what I was expecting and I'm not planning to do anything about this. I just want to get this off my chest and hopefully get rid of this feeling soon. i dont like feeling this way, i want to make my relationship with my bf work. i think im going to avoid hanging out with this friend and the entire friend group. this is not right.

That's painful but you're doing the right thing by avoiding this situation. I hope you're able to work things out with your partner. And if not, I hope you have the strength to walk away from the relationship. I'm sure things will get better for you! Sending you lots of love <3
