Should I start wearing colored contacts?

Hey guys,
I really need some advice. I’m a Black girl in high school with natural blue eyes. I know it's kinda cool and different, but honestly, I'm so tired of everyone staring at me all the time. It's like I can't go anywhere without feeling like I'm in a spotlight, and it's really starting to bug me.
I've been thinking about getting colored contacts to change my eye color to something more normal, but I’m not sure. On one hand, I just want to blend in and not have people always looking at me. On the other hand, I feel like I'd be hiding who I really am.
Has anyone else ever felt like this? Do you think I should go for the colored contacts or just embrace my natural eyes? I'd love to hear your thoughts and any advice you have.
