iGCSE edexcel history paper 2??

anyone have any predictions for china: conflict crisis and change (1900-89) and the origins and course of the first world war (1905-18)??

I think the 16-marker for China will be something about the Qing Dynasty; I haven't seen it in any past papers yet.

Hey, I hope you all found that the paper went well!I thought paper 1 was really good (Germany + superpower relations) and USA for paper 2 was really good as well but I completely messed up china, especially the 16 marker. I know grade boundaries are not set, but do you think I could still get at least a 7?

I think grade boundaries will be quite similar to last year, but obviously it's no use speculating about them because there's no way to predict them very accurately. Seeing that the China part of the paper is only 1/4 of the grade overall I think it could definitely be possible so stay optimistic. In addition, I know a lot of people found the China part of the paper very difficult so grade boundaries could be lower because of this (and quite a few people picked a third factor in the wrong time frame for the 16-marker so will be capped at 10 marks, which will also help to lower grade boundaries).

But I thought if u got third factor wrong you could still get 12/16?

I think it is still possible to get 12, but you'd need to have spent a lot more time analysing the other factors as one of the three paragraphs wouldn't count towards your total mark. So basically 1/3 of your analysis and judgement etc wouldn't count, making it difficult to get to the top of level 3 in the marking response grid.

I’ve got another question
For my second factor I combined what could have been the third paragraph together and analyzed them together as changes in the Five Year Plans. Moreover for the third paragraph on deng I did mention the cultural revolution because I had to assess the extent of changes, so do you think there is a possibility that I can get level 4? 13-16

I think it would really depend on what marker you get! I think it's more likely it would be limited at 12 but depending on how strict the examiner is you could potentially be given credit for the mention of the cultural revolution in the third paragraph.
