SOAS for PPE or Queen Mary for politics international relations

I’ve gotten an offer from SOAS (PPE) and Queen mary (Politics IR). Both have the same grade requirements. I have 2 days to decide.

My main concern with going to SOAS is the employment opportunities after the degree being worse than QMUL as QMUL is a Russel group. However the PPE degree is a more renowned degree than Politics IR.

BIG DILEMA. WHAT SHOULD I CHOOSE

Hi there,

Congrats on getting offers from both, they are great universities. My advice would be to look carefully at the module options and make your decision based on that. You might find one has more classes you're interested in and at the end of the day its the course you're studying not the University. You are more likely to enjoy your degree and do better if you choose a course that interests you! Have a look at the SOAS module options here: https://www.soas.ac.uk/study/find-course/bsc-politics-philosophy-and-economics SOAS has more globally focused courses, I took War and the International in 2nd year and found it fascinating.
In my experience, outside of vocations, employers care less about where you studied than what you achieved and what skills you gained, so its better to choose a university that you will succeed at!

Hope this helps!
