Decline unconditional insurance choice???

I received an unconditional place for Bedfordshire and 4 conditional places, one being UCLAN. I set UCLAN my firm and the Bedfordshire as my insurance but I've now realised that I don't want to go to Bedfordshire as it's too far away. If I don't meet the grade requirements for UCLAN, will there be a way for me to decline my place at Bedfordshire even though it's an unconditional place?

Yes, you can release yourself into clearing on results day if needs be. They’ll be an option on Hub.

If you are absolutely certain now, (and I’d encourage you to take time and discuss it with others), you can ask UCAS to change your Bedfordshire reply to Decline.

Did you hold another offer that you wanted to insure, or would you prefer to go into clearing if you don’t get accepted by your Firm?

I would rather go straight into a job or apprenticeship if I don't get into my firm. If I ask UCAS to decline my Bedfordshire offer is it okay to have just a firm choice and no insurance?

Yes, you don’t need to nominate an insurance choice.

If you are in any doubt, you may as well leave it on UCAS and just advise Bedfordshire when they ask you to enrol.

But if you are certain that you would not go there, then officially removing them as your backup will help them to determine the their incoming number of students.
