I need help choosing uni

I'm conflicted between studying in UK (Oxford, Cambridge), where I currently live, or in Poland, ie my home country. Studying in England is expensive according to many people I have discussed with about this problem, but studying in Poland would be free for me and I would be closer to mountains where I love spending my time every time I get to go. And some polish universities are quite well known around the world in some subjects: Jagiellonian in biotechnology, Astronomy, etc; AGH in engineering; among others. However, I believe an English prestigious University could be better for finding work later. My parents told me to start studying in Poland and do doctorate at Cambridge/Oxford. Is this a good idea though? Could someone give some advice? I don't know which subject I want to study yet though definitely something STEMM related.

*edit: I am thinking for subjects (if this helps with giving advice) between astronomy/Astrophysics, engineering, Physics, chemistry, pharmaceutical, biochem, experimental psychology, biotechnology, materials science, nanotechnology, medicinal chemistry, mechatronics, nuclear energy, computer science, microbiology, immunology, genetics and experimental biology. Yes I know very broad range of interests, and therefore very hard to choose from, maybe someone can help me decide aswell?

I have similar problem. Been in Scotland for 6 years now, which means I can study here for free. I'm planning to do medicine or dentistry. But because I will be applying after a entry course SWAP, they will support my application only for 2 years.
Also, from what I have been told, it's better to not apply to medicine AND dentistry as it shows that you are not focused on specific subject + you need to write personal statement specifically for one of those courses.
In Poland we don't have personal statements, education for me would be for free as well + I would be closer to family which is also important as my granny is 90 and my parents both 65, which is not THAT young.
And I'm thorn. My brother is pushing me to study here as UK degree would be more prestigous but let's be honest, Polish universities have a great position internationally as well.

Why is it important that your university is known? Do you choose your friends because of where they live or because you like them? Employers generally don't care where you studied. They only want to know that you can do the job and honestly, 99% of jobs out there do not require any skill or knowledge you might learn at university.

If you want to go to Oxford or Cambridge it should be because firstly, you are an exceptional student but secondly because you want to receive the best university education you can get in Europe, not because you think their employment rates are better (they aren't).

However, if you are a happy-go-lucky kind of person who enjoys the mountains then either study in Manchester which is much closer to the outdoors than Oxford and Cambridge or stick with your free options in Poland.

The biggest lie told to young people is that the university and degree you choose are really important for getting a job.

Good luck!
