What is Clearing?

Hey everyone! :wavey:

If you're unsure of what Clearing is and how it all works, I hope this post helps you understand it all a little better. If not, feel free to leave a comment with any queries and I'll do my best to help.

Clearing is part of the UCAS application system.

It's another opportunity for you to find a place to start university this September.

You can use Clearing if you:

▪️ have changed your mind about what or where you want to study
▪️ got higher or lower grades than you expected
▪️ haven't applied to study at university for September 2024 yet

You can still apply for undergraduate courses before Clearing opens, until the UCAS deadline on 30 June 2024.

When Clearing opens on 5 July, you can view university course lists which have Clearing places available.

I'd recommend you check the course lists regularly as they may be updated whenever places are filled or made available. 💻

Once you have your exam results and have found a course you're interested in, you'll just need to get in touch with the university to find out if they can offer you a place. Then, if you get an offer, the next step is to add your Clearing choice through UCAS Hub - this counts as acceptance of the offer.
