Funding for second degree after not completing first one

Basically I didn't finish a degree twenty years ago and have been told by sfe that I'm only entitled to one more year of funding for a new degree, although there are exceptions depending on what degree I would be studying. Please can anyone tell me if psychology, criminology or early years education would be eligible for full 3 yrs funding.

Hi Mabelmama,

Those are not exceptions to previous study rules unfortunately. The previous study calculation will take your year(s) of previous study into account when you apply for a new course. For example, if you have 2 years of previous study and wish to attend a new 3 year course, it would be 3+1-2=2 years. That would mean that you would be fully funded for years 2 and 3 of the new course but you would need to self fund the Tuition Fees in year 1.

Thanks, Clare

Hi Clare I thought certain degrees such as nursing were except from previous study rules
