AQA Alevel English Literature NEA

Hello!
I am currently deciding on which two novels to explore for my Literature NEA and am very interested in exploring the themes of morality, religion and the human conscience. My initial thought was to study 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' however i am struggling to find any interesting post-1900 novels that explore these themes similarly... Any ideas?

Thank you so much for responding! We are not allowed to do Jane Eyre because it is a taught text for some schools 😢

'Jane Eyre' is pre-1900, but 'The Handmaid's Tale' (Margaret Atwood) has such a lot to explore, in terms of what you're interested in. Also : Iris Murdoch, if you want a bit of a stretch (eg 'The Bell') and Graham Greene's novels are full of those themes you mention, and are great to read. You could look at 'Brighton Rock', for a start.
