Gcse chem help? <33

Hey, I was wondering if I could have some help- I was a bit confused in some Chemistry, as monomers are shown to have these double bond things (looks a bit like this =), but when you have to draw out the polymer diagram for it, it only has a single bond to it? Do we have to know the reason or is it above GCSE level? (I do combined btw)

THANK YOU SO MUCH

That double line is a double covalent bond between the 2 carbons in the monomer. In addition polymerisation, you break the double bond to single bonds in the monomer, so different monomers can connect together (as carbon can form 4 bonds). When you draw the polymer, you just draw 1 repeating unit (so get rid of the double bond in the monomer to make it a repeating unit) in the polymer, with n stating how many repeating units.
