A level options

Hi, I was just wondering if these options sound alright for A levels:

- Drama
- English lit
- Psychology
- Government politics or history - idk - is politics like history or do I do health and social

- I want to go to uni but idk which options are generally more desirable - I was told that history is a 'facilitating subject' and I would ideally like to do it, but it doesn't fit with my option blocks so I would have to do it in the drama block if that makes sense (there are four option blocks) - I have no idea what I'm going to do - there is the option to do drama at an another sixth form but it's a L3 BTECH in performing arts and drama is my absolute passion (obviously not school drama like the gcse stuff as most gcse drama students typically find it quite ... yeah) but I would like to get a further qualification in this etc

I would also be doing EPQ

Any advice would be appreciated - do I do history in the block that has drama in and do a performing arts btech instead? or do I stay at my sixth form and do drama and then politics or health and social?
Can I ask what you’d like to do at uni? As that’s an important factor to consider

I'm still kind of unsure - I'm an all rounder in my gcses subjects whether that be a STEM subject or an essay based subject - I'm very interested in drama/musical theatre, hence why I would like to take drama, but it clashes with history - Idk if it's possible or not but a degree in like history and drama - although english with history is more popular etc - so maybe drama, teaching degree or drama with history, like I said before, if that's possible 🙂 - realistically I'm only a teenager and I'm not 100 per cent sure but as long as I've shown that I've studied within higher education and gotten a degree under my belt and have shown that I've studied to degree level, then the sky is really the limit, as well as the world being my oyster!
i’m doing history and politics! the marking criteria is the main similarity in my opinion, they go together nicely with a good difference/variation of topics

Well firstly I would recommend seriously looking into what you would like to do following A-levels, because although it seems far away, you have to start making decisions quite early on in year 12.
In my experience as long as you don’t do incredibly competitive courses like Medicine or Dentistry, it doesn’t really matter what subjects you choose, for example I know people who are doing Law at uni and didn’t do Law at A-Level. So I would just pick the subjects you like, and if they don’t match very well, it doesn’t matter. I’m in year 13 currently doing French, Geography and Criminology and they don’t match at all, but I quite liked that because I always felt like I could get away from one subject and go to a completely different one as opposed to it all being really similar (like if you did maths, further maths and physics for example). So ultimately just pick what you like doing, as you’re about to spend a lot of time doing it

This is probably going to sound really stupid... but. do you have to keep up with everything in the news etc and did you know loads about politics, parliament and what not before starting the course because I worry that if I do politics i will fall behind very easily because I don't know too much about it. Is it coursework based or exam orientated too?
TIA : )

don’t worry there are no stupid questions!!!
you don’t have to follow the news ALL the time but you definitely need to keep up with it in some degree as you have to have examples for your essays/9 markers. do your examples as you go along!
nooo not at all, don’t worry if you don’t really know anything before starting the course but over summer maybe read or watch some programmes etc - i can recommend plenty that i can PM you about
it is fully exam based, no coursework!
