AQA GCSE English langauge Q5 descriptive writing

Hey all i was wondering for the Q5 creative writing task our school only allows you to choose the descriptive task and i am horrible at making up descriptions on the spot, so i was wondering could i pre plan a descriptive writing piece and if so what should i base it on, as i don't know what picture is going to come up on my Year 10 mock. So what description could i write about/base it on so that would be adaptable to any picture?? Im currently really stressing as i am really bad at English lang can anyone helpp!

Heyy,
I did my gcses like 2 yrs ago but i hope i can help! For the description I memorise two contradicting nature scenarios. Im not that good at coming up on the spot with rlly good descriptions either so before my exam I spent some time writing two really good descriptions (with all your metaphors, etc.) These were nature based bc in every image you will find something like the sky, so it's quite simple to add it in. These two descriptions could reflect like a sunset and a storm for example. Then, once I've read the prompts I would decide whether to use the storm (starting with the problem and then resolving it) or with the sunset (starting with peace then an unresolved problem comes). You don't need to finish the plot. It's perfectly fine to leave a cliff hangers. In fact, it's much better than trying to rewrite Harry Potter, etc. in the short time you are given. So stick to a very basic story line and focus on descriptions. Try to remember a few fancy words that you can easily use (like adjs for mood, etc.) and use techniques like metaphors, personification, pathetic fallacy (which you would already be doing through the two nature examples). Like I said, it's been a while since I've done my gcses but these are some things I can remember. Good luck!
