No, please god no.
This is the WORSE way at finding love. Gotta meet them in person, no point having a good time behind screens this way. Too unhealthy.
It was just a banter, mate. Anyway, I don't think it's the worst way to find love. So many people find their love of life online. Definitely, an in-person meet-up is the best but you can't argue with those who do it differently.

Look at these quotes from sources:

United States: According to the Pew Research Center, only about 10% of people in committed relationships or marriages met their partner on a dating site or app.

United Kingdom: A OnePoll survey found that 30% of unmarried couples under 30 had met online.

India: 12% of adults are currently dating someone they met on an app.

Globally: 16% of global adults aged 25-34 met their current partner on an app.

Online dating is more common among younger generations, with 53 percent of adults under 30 saying they have used dating sites or apps.

So it tends to be below 30%, (UK's side is quite interesting though). So not very high. :pizza:

yeah but lol its kind of haram - he's looking for a girlfriend not a wife

So many things are prohibited in Islam but we still engage in them. That doesn't mean I'm encouraging him. What I'm trying to say is that he can eventually find a wife in the form of a girlfriend if his intentions are pure and everything goes well. You know what I mean.

well tbh then he shouldve worded it as like potential fiancee or sum rather than gf
if things r prohibited in islam n we still engage thats not rlly an excuse to just tick everything off the haram jahannum bucket list icl

It's alright. Well, we make blunders sometimes knowingly and sometimes unknowingly. Allah is there and he is the one who knows who is going where.
