I’m not sure, but I did do interviews for radiography and I think there is some overlap. I would say make sure you know what these concepts are:

1. Patient-centred care (PCC)
2. The six core NHS values (make you you can name and describe each one and why they are important.
3. Importance of equality, patient autonomy, professionalism.
4. Patient well-being.

I also would make sure you can answer these questions:

1. Why are you interest in nursing
2. Why are you interested in this uni.
3. What skills and experiences do you make you suitable.
4. Is there a specific specialist role you would like to do in the future. (Why?)
5. They might give scenario questions, so if they ask about a colleague who is doing something wrong and it’s endangering a patient. To approach any scenario question you need to be able to identify key concepts around that scenario, for this one it would be the importance of patient well being and safety, you duty as a nurse to report concerns, your duty as a nurse to uphold standards of ethics and conduct which includes professionalism. These are just concepts, don’t list them but include them in your answer.

Ahh that’s a shame, sorry I didn’t even look at when you posted it. Have you got any other interviews, students usually don’t do so well in the first or second but once you start to gauge what kind of questions they will ask, it will help you prepare. Don’t give up! I got rejections from 4/5 of the unis I applied to but you just need one! It weirdly ended up being the best rank uni for my course and a Russell group.

I have an offer at bcu but I’m kinda wanting to go Plymouth as it is slightly cheaper to live.

Nobody can give you exact questions for nursing interviews due to fairness of others doing it as well....

Some examples...... For what you might be asked okay
Here are some common interview questions for a Nursing course:

How do you feel you fit the role of a modern nurse

What is the role of a nurse in (what area are you interested in working)

Why do you want to be a nurse

Why do you want to specialise in (adult, child, mental health, or learning difficulties midwifery)

How do you deal with stressful situations

Why have you chosen this university for your degree

What are some of the issues in the NHS and how should we overcome them

How would you calm down a violent or aggressive patient

How would you react to a patient on the acute ward that had done some very horrible things to people

What are the 6 C’s of nursing

How would you cope with a bereavement when you are on shift and stay professional as a nurse

Try to think of clear, concise answers to these questions and do some research into the issues they’re asking you to discuss.
If you’re not sure about the answer you can ask the interviewer to repeat the question or ask them to explain further what they’re looking for.

A summer 2023 qualified adult nurse.
Best of luck with your interview

Hi

Don't beat yourself up about you not doing well because of your nervousness.... Every potential student nurses will have some sort of nervousness before, during and after doing there interviews but unusually the panel of interviewers will take this into consideration as they understand that you can get nervous, I have known potential student nurses absolutely messing up there interview but yet still been offered a place at university as a student nurse. So just keep positive about it until you know what there outcome is.

Keep your fingers 🤌 🤌 crossed for good news.

If you are going to discuss your interview then try not to give out what questions you were asked about as each interview they tend to change the questions around so that no two people are asked similar questions etc.

ANY HELP WOULD BE AMAZIING GOT INTERVIEW FRIDAY!!!
Hi guys!!
I Am the same- I've been asked about a scenario the scenario is
'You are a nursing student on placement. You hear a colleague in the staff room making comments of an offensive nature.'
And the questions linked to it are these-
1- What would you do in this situation?
2- What part of the Code is this relevant to and what professional and ethical issues does this raise?

MANY THANKS
KATIE )

I believe @Emily_B has already answered this question for you on your other thread you made... I would look at what she already said on this ok.
@Kate0702 It is against TSR rules to share interview questions and answers as it gives an unfair advantage to those who follow.

Since I have a lot of people in this thread, are there any student nurses who is studying to become a children nurse? I'm urgently looking for student nurses, both those pursuing a traditional degree and apprentices in children's nursing, to participate in my research survey about career pathway routes. The survey takes only 3 minutes to complete, and your input would be invaluable. Please note that your responses will be handled with complete confidentiality, so you do not need to add your name. I'm really worried about failing this unit at college, so your help would mean a lot to me. Help a girl out 🤧
