hello, im taking the exams and my idea is to focus on vocabulary before tomorrows exam, and then, as I have many days between my physics and writing exam I will focus on kanji and grammatical structures!

hope your revision is going well! and I hope that you find that paper will be good

I'm just going over vocabularies, kanjis and grammar for the writing exam.
How did you find the listening and reading exam? I thought it was good for the most part.

i did not like the listening but i found the reading was good, i feel like previous year listening were easier, much easier. my only issue with listenings is that i have a horrid attention span and they speak so slow, so even though i understand what they are saying i cannot actually write it down :,), do you remember what you put for the questions about the doctor in africa, i was zoned out in that. im not too worried tho as i feel writing is my strongest suit and have alot of time to prep

Omg i thought that the people were speaking way too slowly and the pauses between each section was way too long?? I lost concentration 😭
But the doctor question I said that the doctor's boss controlled the money therefore he couldn't help everyone there. And that he left the programme because he had 3 kids or something.

ahhhh i agree, since i found the listening difficult, maybe even strange? im not sure how to describe how i felt about it, and most definitely lost more marks than i wanted to, my writing has to be perfect to score the 9 im hoping for 😭, but i find the writing not to be as bad, how are you feeling for the writing??

It's okay, I'm sure you'll be able to get more marks on writing if that's your strongest!
I'm just worried about kanji because i haven't written in japanese by hand in a long tike, I'm too used to typing 😓
Do you have any advice for it?

AHH I UNDERSTAND YOU WITH THE TYPING ME TOO!! my teacher told us that for the writing kanji learning ones that are in a sense basic will count towards your marks. since i have like 4 days between my second last and this exam, i'm going to use that time to go ever kanjis of very frequently used words, as they always give credit for those regardless of how simple they are

for example i'd focus on adjective kanjis like 面白い、高い, and also frequently used verb kanjis like 食べる、買う. and then you'd also want to include the higher tier kanjis for the seasons, probably even 曜日、id say its quite memorable to write. with the adjectives, they are quite versatile, as if u just learn the stroke order for one of the kanjis and in the exam you need to negate it, that's easy and will be considered good grammar. i'd say dont worry too much about the amount of kanji you write, my kanji writing knowledge has suffered over the years but compared to my chinese friends who have it engraved in their minds, me and my other friend tend to score more on essays as the grammar appears to be valued more, although i am not sure.

my teacher always told us however that aiming for the higher tier grammar structures like たりたり...します and ...つもりです is better

but then for learning kanjis the only way to remember how to write them is by repeatedly practicing them again and again. its also good to learn compound kanjis. if you're cramming kanjis, its best not to try learn how to write all the ones yk how to read. what i did is go through the modules and select the ones i find id use a lot or would like to use in essays and i will focus on those rather than trying to cram kanjis i most likely wont need

hiya! I thought that it was rlly good too!
I picked question b for both 1 and 2 😊
Hopefully we can both get the grades that we want 🙏
Do you think it's okay that I wrote outside the box for one question? I ran out of space and had to squeeze in 「です」right under my last box 😭😭

it ill be fine dw!!! for the bullet point "why are friends more important than family sometimes", what did u think of? a lot of people I talked to were a bit unsure, but I said something that family sometimes dont understand young peoples problems, but friends can both help and understand them.

ohh okay! For that bullet point I said something similar! I said that it might be uncomfortable to talk to your family about certain topics such as personal struggles and secrets, but friends are people that you can trust and relate more 👍 (I wasn't able to write all of that in kanji in the exam tho 🥲)
