Australia (syndey) elective advice?

Im planning to do my elective in Sydney next year, through the Syndey university. Because my uni doesnt offer any legal supposrt, this has to be organised individually. We need two different insurances

1. Indemnity (which was easily organised through MPS/MDU on MIPS)
2. Public liability (Which I am losing my mind about)

I cannot figure out how to get public liability insurance???

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hey there! I am also hoping to apply for an elective placement at University of Sydney and I too am losing my mind about the Public Liability. Was wondering whether you’ve found any insurance companies that accommodate students for this? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Me too! the faculty at sydney recommended NMRA and Allianz but both companies including several others have straight send no. Have you been successful yet? if so please let me know! 😀

Do you guys think it’s worth sending the application with all required evidence apart from the public liability and let them know we will provide it ASAP? I think they reach full capacity fairly quickly I don’t want to miss out on this opportunity

Hi! I am also in the same boat. Did you ever figure out where to get that public liability insurance? I have tried so many places and don't seem to be having any luck.

My uni didn’t tell me in time but apparently most unis cover for public liability on medical electives abroad. I would email someone in the uni who is either head of electives or part of the insurance team for the uni. 🙂

My uni also told me they didn’t cover for public liability even though they do - so I would triple check. I only found out by contacting the insurance team of my university! Good luck though, i’m sure you’ll get the answer soon
