What subject are you applying fir?
If you have not had a chance to visit these Unis, have a look at the campus tour and open day films for each Uni on YouTube.

Hi @Jellybean0

Do you have any specific questions about studying with us? I will be able to answer more specific queries but in the meantime, please find support below:

I hope you don't mind me asking, are you an International Student? Safety is a concern for many students when making a university decision, and as part of this some of current International Students wrote about how safe they feel on campus and in Huddersfield: https://blogs.hud.ac.uk/students/student-life/safety/

And if you want to find out more about Huddersfield as a place, please visit our webpages: https://www.hud.ac.uk/uni-life/explore-hud/

Best wishes,
Lewis

Hi, this is the University of Aberdeen rep account. If you have any questions about our uni or city then let me know and I'd be happy to get you some more details, and I've put some guidance on deciding between unis which should be helpful.

I would recommend having a look around this site for students of each of the unis you're interested in to see what the general consensus is and what their experience has been
It's also worth thinking about the cities and what appeals to you. Do you want to be close to or far away from home, do you want to be in a big or small city, are there things/places in that city that you're interested in or will be good for any hobbies you have; those sorts of factors should definitely be on your mind as well as the actual courses of each of the universities. There are some good surveys out there for student safety considering this is important to you; I'll link a couple below but would recommend doing some further research yourself.
The Complete University Guide 'How safe is your city?': https://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/student-advice/where-to-study/how-safe-is-your-city
Unifresher 'Where's The Safest Place To Live And Study In The UK In 2023?': https://unifresher.co.uk/cities/national/uk-ranked-wheres-the-safest-place-to-live-and-study/

Then it would be worth having a look on each of our websites to see what appeals to you about the courses eg. course content, projects you will get to do through your degree, prospects upon graduation, that sort of thing.

Based on my experience having lived in Aberdeen for 6 years and having been a student here I would say that it's a safe city for students. It being a smaller city mean it doesn't have the same events/connection opportunities that you might find in bigger cities but it makes living here pretty manageable as it's very walkable and though there is a busy centre and roads the university is a bit removed from that and has plenty of quiet spaces. I hope this information has been useful and all the best with coming to a decision!
